What is an Internal Medicine Physician?
Internal medicine physicians (internists) have broad knowledge of all internal organs and systems, and focus on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases. They provide care to all men and women over the age of 18. Most of the time, internists act as primary care physicians for their patients; however, they are also fully-trained to provide consultations for complex diseases and health problems. Internists educate and guide patients how to lead a healthier life based on their history and personal goals. For a list of our internal medicine services, please click here
